The PLANETKULT series is an artistic and scientific experiment unfolding in three successive phases: Dialogue, Field Academy and Theatre. Across these different formats, art and science come together to explore possible futures for life on Earth. Are new forms of coexistence between humans, other species and their environment possible?

In The Resettlers: Farming Against the Anthropocene, the Green Revolution devours its children. andcompany&Co. take Heiner Müller’s controversial 1961 play, which caused a scandal in the GDR, into the present — a work written in the year the Berlin Wall was built and the first human travelled into space. Today, intensive agriculture, global heating and species extinction place the Earth under immense pressure. Meanwhile, humanity dreams of settling on other planets. A crew of hardened habitat dwellers push back: “We’re staying here!” They tend plants, care for soils and fight the poisoning of the biosphere. In this final phase of the PLANETKULT series, things get dirty: patriarchy ends up in a self-watering, sealed terrarium, queer garden beds take shape and millet is celebrated as a superfood. For in the 21st century, class struggle is fought over calories and proteins. It is time to argue about collectivisation again. Must we leave the planet — or finally learn to inhabit it differently?
